About the Role
TPG has an exciting opportunity for a Client Coverage Associate to support TPG’s Institutional sales effort in the Western US.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of client coverage, business plans, and support needs.
- Assist in building, maintaining, and executing a client coverage strategy for institutional products.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of TPG’s product strengths and applicability, applying this knowledge in written and verbal communication with clients and prospects.
- Independently manage correspondence, including facilitating informational requests from clients/prospects and identifying potential sensitivities.
- Collaborate with internal client service, product, accounting, and other teams to gather necessary information for effective responses.
- Assemble detailed meeting follow-up emails with customized data or research.
- Source, evaluate, and initiate the RFP/DDQ process with sales/client service.
- Utilize Salesforce to manage the sales process, client engagement, and research.
- Create and update contact and coverage records, maintaining current details on contacts and organizations.
- Obtain meeting details and organize relevant information, including company research, news, portfolio information, and competitive analysis.
- Create and track opportunities to support pipeline management and outreach, incorporating changes from team communications.
- Proactively prompt and suggest client follow-up and action items to senior coverage personnel, aligned with outreach strategy.
- Assist in tiering marketer organizations by interest/priority.
- Provide updates on industry insights, including flows, strategic trends, top asset gatherers, and performance data.
- Research industry news and trade publications, updating findings in CRM.
- Assist in coordinating and organizing group events, such as Portfolio Management conference calls and Capital Markets or product event presentations.
- Lead material creation for strategic partnership proposals in conjunction with strategic partnership and product teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2+ years of experience in a fundraising support role for an asset management firm preferred.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced client-oriented environment supporting numerous relationships with competing deadlines.
- Maturity and strong judgment.
- Strong communication skills (in-person and email) with internal stakeholders and clients.
- Highly proficient at process management.
- Proactive approach to analyzing investment data and summarizing it in a client-friendly fashion.
- Basic knowledge of financial markets and an interest in strengthening knowledge of markets and TPG’s investment strategies.
- Ability to think ahead, identify potential issues/conflicts/follow-up items, and communicate them proactively.
- Very strong organization skills, keen attention to detail, and effective time management skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Working knowledge of CRM, preferably Salesforce.
- Series 7 and 63 license or ability to attain within 6 months of joining.
