About the Role
This 12-month fixed-term contract role provides support for ongoing projects and activities within the Transfer Pricing team. The Assistant Group Head of Transfer Pricing will support the Group Head in overseeing transfer pricing policies, compliance, documentation, and audit support. The role also involves assisting the VP Group Tax with M&A, integrations, dissolutions, and ad-hoc advice.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of the Group’s transfer pricing policies for all operating businesses.
- Monitor OECD and local country developments for new compliance requirements.
- Identify, develop, and implement value chain structures to support the Group’s strategic objectives.
- Provide transfer pricing technical support on commercial projects and initiatives.
- Manage Group transfer pricing policies, ensuring they are up-to-date and meet regulatory requirements.
- Oversee all transfer pricing modeling, calculation processes, and tools.
- Prepare and review global transfer pricing calculations for statutory reporting.
- Collaborate with UK and overseas teams to ensure correct issuance of transfer pricing invoices.
- Advise on intercompany services agreements.
- Manage Group documentation and benchmarking studies.
- Support Finance Managers on local transfer pricing matters.
- Prepare Country-by-Country Reporting.
- Support tax authority audits related to transfer pricing.
- Identify, adopt, and implement technology tools for efficient transfer pricing processes.
- Advise the group on regulatory or legislative tax changes affecting the business.
- Provide expert guidance on the practical application of legislation and efficient options.
- Partner with commercial operations leaders, Finance, HR, and other stakeholders on transfer pricing queries.
- Apply a risk-based, commercial approach to advice on intercompany transactions, supply chain issues, and M&A projects.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency optimization and support the VP Group Tax on planning and strategy projects.
- Act as a transfer pricing advisor to senior finance leaders, legal, Treasury, and commercial stakeholders.
- Prepare and present technical transfer pricing analysis and recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate with external tax advisors and peer networks on specialist matters.
- Ensure alignment with global tax strategy and best practices.
- Maintain strong governance, contributing to internal controls and process documentation.
- Support the team with regulatory changes and projects.
- Work collaboratively with other Group Tax teams to ensure comprehensive understanding of issues.
- Develop one junior team member of the Transfer Pricing Team.
- Assist in developing members of the wider Group Tax team.
Requirements
- ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified (or equivalent).
- Experience in UK & International Tax and Transfer Pricing from practice or an industry role.
- Strong technical understanding of transfer pricing principles, regulations, and their practical application.
- Experience in TP technology is a plus.
- Ability to build strong business relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Flexible working style with the ability to manage multiple priorities and perform effectively under tight deadlines.
- Highly motivated team player with a willingness to be hands-on.
