About the Role
The Tech Disputes Legal Assistant supports a team handling international litigation for a major social media client, focusing on data protection, defamation, privacy, and censorship laws. This role involves first-level review, processing, tracking, and implementing case strategy, as well as preparing summaries, tracking statistics, and maintaining databases.
Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive support to the legal team, performing complex or non-routine tasks like document preparation or analysis.
- Assists in handling complex tasks, assignments, and matters for the legal practice.
- Collaborates with team members to complete assigned tasks and projects.
- Supports the preparation and distribution of matter materials.
- Reviews new matters daily and prepares short summaries.
- Develops expert-level knowledge of matter flow.
- Tracks matter flow and maintains up-to-date case files.
- Creates and maintains databases, charts, graphs, and tables for data analysis.
- Utilizes litigation support software, spreadsheet, and database programs.
- Prepares daily time entries for services performed.
- Maintains a good understanding of matter principles, practices, and procedures, staying informed of changes.
- May help train new team members and serve as an informal resource.
- Works independently within established guidelines and procedures with guidance from senior roles.
- Demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Develops analytical skills to evaluate and select appropriate alternatives from defined options in routine work.
- Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
