About the Role

As a member of store management, you will provide customers with quality team service, maintain clean and organized surroundings according to company standards, and share responsibility for sales performance, staff productivity, loss prevention, merchandising, safety, and store operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clean and organized surroundings in accordance with company standards.
  • Share responsibility and accountability for sales performance, productivity of staff, loss prevention, merchandising, safety, and operating functions of the store.
  • Exercise good judgment and initiative to supervise and direct store activities.
  • Maintain a sense of urgency and systematically meet all deadlines.
  • Organize work to maintain a smooth work flow.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure team service.
  • Direct and train employees.
  • Maintain cooperative and professional conduct.
  • Keep confidences and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and management.
  • Follow both written and verbal directives/assignments.
  • Learn and understand the accurate use of all equipment and policies and procedures.
  • Recognize urgent situations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 months of supervisory experience (as a key carrier, shift lead, team lead) in a similar retail environment or a minimum of 6 weeks of experience as sales/cashier at Melrose.
  • If promoting from sales/cashier or shoe associate with less than 45 days of employment, a minimum of 2 months of prior verifiable supervisory experience is required.
  • Must fill out promotion request form and submit to HR.
  • Bronze & Silver Stores: Must be a minimum of 18 years old. If still in high school, must be a senior.
  • Gold & Platinum Stores: Must be a minimum of 18 years and out of high school.
