About the Role
As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to evolving needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a shelter setting.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, residential floors, and the surrounding perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, verify visitor authorization in accordance with site policies, and maintain awareness of individuals entering and leaving the location.
- Document observations, incidents, and activities accurately in required reports, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
