About the Role

Moog is seeking a Director of SAP Technology & Solutions to support a major ERP transformation, the Business Modernization Program (BMP). This role is critical for leading SAP S/4HANA technical delivery across solution architecture, resource planning, quality assurance, governance, and executive stakeholder engagement for a large-scale enterprise transformation program.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day SAP technical delivery across program phases including solution design, build, integration, development, testing, cutover, and hypercare activities.
  • Manage and coordinate SAP technical resources such as functional analysts, Basis administrators, security specialists, developers, integration leads, data resources, testing resources, and internal controls specialists.
  • Establish and maintain technical delivery governance, including cadence, decision forums, quality gates, technical design reviews, risk management, and executive-ready status reporting.
  • Partner with business, IT, system integrators, and third-party stakeholders to align technical scope, solution direction, resourcing, timelines, dependencies, and deliverable expectations.
  • Drive integrated technical planning across SAP S/4HANA workstreams, ensuring dependencies across functional design, integrations, data migration, security roles, controls, testing cycles, cutover, and operational readiness are actively managed.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for SAP technical delivery issues, proactively identifying risks, resolving blockers, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee quality assurance for SAP technical deliverables, ensuring design documentation, configuration, developments, integrations, controls, test evidence, and deployment plans meet program standards.
  • Lead technical resource planning, capacity management, onboarding, role clarity, and performance cadence across internal, contractor, system integrator, and offshore delivery teams.
  • Guide SAP S/4HANA architecture and technical strategy decisions, including clean core alignment, extensibility, integration strategy, security model, controls design, and operational support transition.
  • Coordinate technical cutover planning, mock cutovers, go/no-go readiness, deployment execution, hypercare support, and stabilization activities for a controlled transition to the live SAP environment.
  • Work closely with internal controls and compliance stakeholders to ensure SAP security, segregation of duties, control design, audit readiness, and evidence requirements are embedded into delivery execution.
  • Prepare and deliver concise technical status updates, decision recommendations, risk escalations, and executive briefings for program leadership, Steering Committee, and senior business stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Typically, a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, business, or a related field; an advanced degree, PMP, SAP certification, or related enterprise architecture certification preferred.
  • At least 12 years of total professional experience in SAP, enterprise technology delivery, technical leadership, or large-scale ERP transformation programs.
  • Proven experience leading SAP technical teams across multiple disciplines such as Basis, security, development, integration, functional analysis, data, testing, and internal controls.
  • Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA implementation lifecycle, SAP Activate methodology, solution design governance, testing, cutover, go-live, hypercare, and transition-to-support activities.
  • Experience managing blended delivery models involving internal employees, contractors, system integrators, third-party vendors, and onshore/offshore teams across multiple time zones.
  • Ability to manage resource plans, delivery risks, technical dependencies, quality gates, budget inputs, and executive-level status reporting across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Working knowledge of SAP security, role design, segregation of duties, internal controls, audit evidence, and compliance considerations in a regulated enterprise environment.
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to simplify complex SAP technical topics, frame business implications, and drive alignment with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA architecture, clean core principles, extensibility, integration patterns, data migration sequencing, testing strategy, and technical cutover planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with urgency, structure, and judgment in high-ambiguity transformation environments while maintaining delivery discipline and team accountability.
  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace and defense, regulated industries, or complex global operations preferred.
  • SAP experience, ECC and/or S4 Hana platform, strongly preferred.
