About the Role

BRC is seeking to make a positive impact on the lives of those in the community by providing vital services to New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. This role is crucial in offering a hand up, opportunities for health and self-sufficiency, and restoring hope and dignity.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the building's entrance.
• Create client identification cards.
• Monitor site activity through the digital camera system.
• Provide emergency response and crisis intervention.
• Meet and greet individuals entering the premises.
• Determine program or service needs and direct individuals to appropriate locations.
• Assist clients in accessing necessary services.
• De-escalate situations involving frustrated or angry individuals.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency responders.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Security guard license required.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Good oral and written communications skills needed.
• Willingness and ability to pass tests to acquire CPR and Fire Safety Credentials required.

Skills

• Bilingual preferred.
• NYC Fire Safety Coordinator Certification a plus.
• CPR Certification a plus.

• The goal of the Jack Ryan Residence is to place clients into appropriate, supportive housing within nine months.
