About the Role
The Assistant Project Manager will contribute to the oversight of service teams performing investigations, analysis, and examination of building structural elements, building envelope, and surrounding site conditions. This role involves reviewing the work of staff to ensure project activities are completed accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Assist with technical and administrative aspects of new façade/roofing service opportunities from proposal preparation to final client acceptance.
- Review design/analysis specifications and calculations for active projects to ensure accuracy and updates.
- Ensure contractors adhere to contract documents and prepare summary documentation for investigations.
- Review and comment on technical reports, ensuring clarity, correctness, and grammatical accuracy for client understanding.
- Maintain project schedules, change orders, and budgets, ensuring adequate staffing and adherence to client agreements.
- Mentor new team members on work processes, company policies, safety, time reporting, and office rules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- 3-6 years of experience in building assessment and/or design for existing building projects, including exterior envelopes.
- Direct experience with project and staff management, including team skill development, processes, compliance, and team building with engineering staff and construction professionals.
- Ability to delegate project-specific tasks to direct reports.
- Working knowledge of existing-building and forensic experience structural framing.
- Ability to perform field investigations, structural analysis, repair design, technical documentation, and construction administration.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Ability to navigate urban, rural, and industrial sites.
