About the Role
Establish, monitor, and maintain a high level of productivity and efficiencies on each of the operating shifts at the plant, while ensuring regulatory and safety compliance to achieve maximum production.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all plant personnel perform their tasks safely while utilizing all PPE and other safety equipment at all times.
- Maintain regulatory compliance within the plant and plant yard.
- Manage plant processing supplies, including PPE, uniforms, cleaning materials, and processing chemicals, to ensure adequate inventories.
- Ensure plant employees and shift supervisors maintain productivity standards in all operations.
- Review shift productivity to identify maximum efficiencies and operational opportunities.
- Initiate actions to assure timely resolution of identified hazards or unsafe conditions or practices.
- Train all new plant and temp personnel and provide monthly training for all current plant personnel, including safety and compliance.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, both internally and externally.
- Coordinate customer needs by adhering to a defined processing schedule.
- Interface proactively with personnel to achieve business goals.
- Perform periodic facility audits and review of applicable regulatory paperwork (e.g., biological testing, WW testing).
- Monitor daily performance of plant employees, providing feedback and identifying growth opportunities.
- Influence hiring and firing decisions and disciplinary procedures.
- Assist in resolving plant problems and issues between sales, drivers, and plant/maintenance employees.
- Maintain overall cost control of the plant.
- Perform other related duties as required or requested.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
- 2 years of related experience or training, or combination of experience and training, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact in providing superior service in a variety of settings and situations.
- Current driver’s license Upon Hire
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, grasp, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
- Requires eye/hand/foot coordination.
- Must strictly comply with all safety rules and protocols.
- May be subject to drug and alcohol testing, including pre-employment screening, post-incident evaluations, reasonable suspicion checks, and random testing.
- Must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative for potential air travel or access to federal property.
