About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Mid-Level Environmental Professional to join our Syracuse, NY team. This position will support a diverse portfolio of environmental investigation and remediation projects, with a primary focus on CERCLA-related site characterization, PFAS investigations, and remediation of chlorinated solvent-impacted soil and groundwater. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to plan and execute field investigations, evaluate environmental data, develop technical deliverables, and support project management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning and execution of environmental investigation, remediation, and site management projects involving soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor contamination.
  • Lead field activities, including drilling oversight, environmental sampling, remediation system monitoring, and subcontractor coordination, while ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate field logistics, laboratory services, equipment, and project resources to support successful project execution.
  • Evaluate, interpret, and manage environmental data to support site characterization, remedial decision-making, and regulatory reporting.
  • Prepare technical reports, work plans, memoranda, permit applications, and other project deliverables.
  • Support project managers with budgeting, scheduling, task tracking, and client communications; proactively identify and communicate project needs, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical solutions for complex environmental challenges.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, scope development, and cost estimating for existing and new project opportunities.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff and support their professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 3-5 years of environmental consulting, site investigation, remediation, or related experience.
  • Experience supporting CERCLA, PFAS, RCRA, or state-led environmental investigation and remediation projects.
  • Experience planning and leading environmental field programs, including drilling oversight, groundwater, soil, sediment, surface water, and vapor sampling.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage field teams, coordinate subcontractors, and implement site-specific health and safety requirements.
  • Strong technical writing, data analysis, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience preparing technical reports, work plans, memoranda, and regulatory deliverables.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, regulators, subcontractors, and project teams.
  • Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulations and remediation programs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and motivated to support a diverse portfolio of environmental projects.
  • Must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check required by our insurer.
