About the Role
This is an entry-level Sterile Services Technician vacancy offering world-class training to establish a defined career pathway within STERIS Instrument Processing, a company specializing in surgical instrument sterilization, reprocessing, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, instruments, and equipment) through decontamination, inspection, assembly, and packing to predefined quality standards.
- Rigorously checking, washing, laying up, and packing theatre instrument sets to meet contract specifications and predefined quality standards.
- Safely operating and monitoring machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic, and sterilisers) effectively.
- Recording and logging repairs and missing instruments or equipment on the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
- Ensuring repaired instruments or equipment are returned to stock, appropriate coded sets, or the Trust’s appointed person.
Requirements
- Educated to a good general standard with demonstrable verbal and numerical abilities.
- Basic end-user IT skills to operate the track and traceability IT system.
- TVQ or NVQ Level 2 in Decontamination or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience in Sterile Services and/or health-related products.
