About the Role
Working under minimal supervision, the Senior Analyst, Claims will contribute to Wawanesa's success by leveraging analytical capabilities and insights to understand business objectives, stakeholder needs, and technological advancements to drive the implementation of claims management solutions that ensure an exceptional experience for our members and end-users. The ideal candidate for this role has experience leading projects or initiatives to achieve desired outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and track initiative management plans and schedules.
- Collaborate with Claims Managers and Information Security Managers to define and manage scope, risks, and issues throughout the initiative lifecycle.
- Evaluate current state baselines to determine organizational and strategic benefits.
- Engage regional business teams, manage the quality of the solution provided, and ensure all initiative objectives are met.
- Manage the initiative register to improve communication, enable tracking, and ensure transparency.
- Lead the analysis and design of system and business requirements as part of application enhancements and initiatives.
- Establish and communicate regular progress reports to all stakeholders.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of initiative presentations to various operational groups.
- Anticipate roadblocks, manage escalations, and balance business needs with technical constraints.
- Follow Agile practices and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Present system solutions in both technical and operational terms.
- Analyze business processes to identify improvement opportunities by eliminating unnecessary work and implementing changes.
- Manage third-party vendor and consultant relationships and activities, including those on assigned projects.
- Leverage software development tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams.
- Highlight business impact to facilitate task prioritization.
- Coordinate Organizational Change Management support for various initiatives by developing training materials, conducting demonstrations, and training staff as needed.
- Collaborate with regional offices to ensure a strong understanding of operational deliverables.
Requirements
- At least seven years of experience in P&C insurance or business analysis.
- Post-secondary degree or certificate or equivalent experience.
- Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or equivalent in business analysis.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to consistently identify and leverage strategic opportunities to support the initiative team and the business.
- Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze information in detail and select and implement the best solutions.
- Advanced communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to express oneself clearly and concisely using language appropriate to the audience and message.
- Advanced planning, organization, and time management skills, with the ability to develop and implement plans by prioritizing and multitasking.
- Ability to elevate team morale by encouraging members to be motivated and enthusiastic about initiative activities and outcomes.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong leadership skills to provide support and guidance to team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using integrations such as Mitchell, ERAC, Xactware, Progi, HCAI, and AI.
- Proven experience in Agile practices, Scrum, Kanban, Lean Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous delivery.
- Proven experience in strategic initiatives or enterprise projects.
- Bilingualism is an asset.
