About the Role

CIBC’s Digital Asset team is focused on building and scaling enterprise capabilities that support the future of digital finance. As an Executive Director, Digital Asset Platforms, you’ll work closely with the Managing Director to turn CIBC’s digital asset vision into executable programs and measurable outcomes. You’ll lead end-to-end delivery across key streams including custody, trading, settlement, tokenization, payments, and wealth management, while driving alignment across strategy, governance, and execution. You’ll build strong partnerships across Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance to move complex initiatives forward with pace and discipline. You’ll also lead key client, partner, and vendor relationships, helping shape institutional-grade solutions that are secure, scalable, and aligned with regulatory requirements. In this senior leadership role, you’ll be accountable for execution quality, team performance, and delivering meaningful progress across CIBC’s digital asset platform.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Digital Assets Steering Committee and senior leaders to translate strategic priorities into clear roadmaps, operating plans, and delivery frameworks.
  • Provide structured updates to executive leadership on progress, risks, decisions, and opportunities.

  • Establish governance, delivery cadences, and escalation protocols to keep workstreams on track and aligned to timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Drive accountability across teams in Technology, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance by resolving dependencies, removing blockers, and maintaining momentum across complex initiatives.
  • Support institutional client acquisition and relationship management, and lead the evaluation and onboarding of vendors and strategic partners.
  • Contribute to go-to-market strategies for new digital asset products and services in line with CIBC’s strategic direction.
  • Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Risk partners to support regulatory engagement and maintain strong oversight across digital asset activities.
  • Monitor the evolving regulatory landscape, surface implications to senior leadership, and help ensure issues and risks are identified, tracked, and addressed promptly.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, supporting talent planning, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of leading complex, multi-stream programs and translating strategic priorities into scalable execution plans and business outcomes.
  • Ability to build trust with senior stakeholders, navigate ambiguity with confidence, and operate effectively as a trusted partner to executive leadership.
