About the Role

The Cleaner will perform a variety of custodial duties under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, adhering to established standards and procedures of C&W Services. Must be available to work holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Operate light and heavy commercial floor machines, including buffers and shampoo machines.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas, performing spot cleaning and shampooing as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills, interior door glass, partition glass, and specified windows.
• Wash and spot clean glass and trim at entrance doors, interior and exterior.
• Wash and spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, cleaning leather and wood surfaces, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic cleaning responsibilities require no previous experience.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
• Open to work all holidays.
