About the Role
This role is responsible for verifying insurance eligibility, pre-cert requirements, and co-pay amounts for patients. The Financial Counselor also initiates referrals for patients without insurance or financial need, serves as the departmental insurance resource, and registers patients accessing Acute Care sites.
Responsibilities
- Verifies insurance eligibility, pre-cert requirements and co-pay amounts for all inpatients and surgical patients accessing our services
- Initiates referrals for patients with no insurance or financial need
- Serves as departmental insurance resource/educator for all staff
- Registers patients accessing the Acute Care sites
Requirements
- All new employees are required to undergo and pass all applicable state and federally mandated pre-employment screening requirements.
