About the Role
This is a production underwriting position responsible for marketing, underwriting, and processing assigned lines of business within Argo Group's Primary Casualty line.
Responsibilities
- Underwrite and analyze new business and renewal submissions.
- Ensure marketing initiatives are achieved and consistent communication of products and services is provided to appointed brokers.
- Assist regional manager and product leaders in developing broker relations and attracting new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a submission pipeline to achieve production and business mix objectives.
- Actively participate in client and broker meetings.
- Use market contacts to bring in new business, gather market intelligence, and cross-sell products.
- Participate in special projects and assignments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- At least one year of underwriting or equivalent experience and education.
- Strong computer skills.
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Very strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
- Professional attitude.
- Ability to quickly evaluate the accuracy of data and information.
- Ability to interact and communicate with various levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently with guidance and procedures.
- Ability to travel.
