About the Role
Payments Canada is seeking a Senior Analyst, Industry Relations to support the organization's efforts in building and maintaining strong relationships across the Canadian Payments ecosystem. This role acts as a key liaison, fostering productive connections with members and stakeholders to support industry engagement and relationship building. The Senior Analyst will also contribute to the development and execution of industry engagement initiatives, ensuring members' perspectives are understood and integrated. This is a temporary 8-month position.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution and refinement of formal Industry Relations and enterprise engagement models.
- Develop and implement industry engagement strategies in partnership with member engagement team members.
- Deliver annual account plans for assigned member relationships, identifying priorities and addressing Member issues.
- Manage the assignment of Member Accounts to support Industry Relations goals.
- Develop awareness of the external payments environment, domestically and internationally.
- Identify and track trends affecting Payments Canada’s members and stakeholders.
- Provide intel and insights gathered from member interactions to internal partners.
- Provide input related to the strategic plan, long-term desired outcomes, and major initiatives.
- Continually manage relationships with members and stakeholders at appropriate levels.
- Act as the liaison for Industry Relations with assigned internal stakeholders and partners.
- Participate in working groups and direct 1:1 engagement to support modernization objectives.
- Work with the Industry Relations team to ensure execution of team tasks and deliverables.
- Act as the focal point for communicating key messages to assigned relationships.
- Maintain and enhance Payments Canada’s image through participation and speaking engagements at industry and Payments Canada-led conferences.
- Participate in relevant industry associations and provide timely communications and analysis.
- Contribute to change management and implementation of Payments Canada services within the ecosystem.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Economics, Commerce, or a related field).
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience within the payments and/or financial services sector.
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience specifically in client engagement, stakeholder management, or relationship management.
- Proven ability to build, manage, and influence high-level relationships with external members and internal cross-functional teams.
- Excellent presentation and persuasion skills; able to establish credibility quickly and represent the organization at industry conferences.
- Ability to analyze complex market trends and translate them into actionable annual account plans.
- Capable of high performance in ambiguous, fast-paced, and rapidly changing situations.
- Superior problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying member needs and process improvements.
- A strong team player who can collaborate with and mentor junior analysts within the Industry Relations team.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and analysis.
- Eligibility to successfully complete background checks (criminal, credit, identity, employment, and education).

- Target starting rate: $100,300
