About the Role

The Corporate Banking Relationship Management team acquires, orchestrates, and grows client and ecosystem relationships. This role deepens relationships with key positions in late-stage companies and serves as a thought leader in advisory sales. You will advise senior leaders in late-stage companies, provide beneficial referrals by cross-selling across the commercial platform, and orchestrate cross-functional teams to optimize the client experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary relationship management contact for large portfolio of late-stage clients, identifying needs and structuring customized solutions.
  • Ensure high quality products, service and platforms are available to clients.
  • Leverage expertise about credit and non-credit banking products, platforms, and services to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Proactively anticipate client needs and identify cross-sell opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal product partners to ensure quality and timely completion of cross-sell projects.
  • Act as an advisor within the client's industry, staying informed on technology ecosystem trends and their impact on clients and prospects.
  • Maintain relationships with existing partners and external sources to identify and engage qualified prospects.
  • Engage in outbound prospecting and broader market development.
  • Drive new business development, expansion of existing relationships, and brand advancement.
  • Identify and host events for client engagement, professional development, and networking.
  • Generate and foster a strong network of referral partners and external sources.
  • Leverage sector and industry expertise to recommend, advise, originate, and negotiate credit and financing solutions.
  • Partner with Corporate Banking Credit Solutions, Senior Credit Officers, and Sales Originations teams to manage and execute credit deals.
  • Lead team interactions with key cross-functional partners.
  • Collaborate with appropriate business units to achieve success drivers and corporate goals.
  • Mentor and guide team members to develop their client relationship, business development, and financial solutions skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience.
  • Preferred Area of Study: Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Liberal Arts (i.e. English, History, etc.), or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree.
  • Preferred Area of Experience: Commercial Banking in Credit Solutions and/or Relationship Management, Venture Capital, Private Equity, Sales Originations.
  • 6 years of experience in commercial banking, venture capital or Relationship Management and/or industry-specific knowledge in technology.
  • Strong relationship management and ability to engage with clients.
  • Strong focus and ownership of the overall client experience.
  • Self-starter, takes charge to solve problems, acts like a business owner.
  • Brings a positive attitude and can quickly adapt to change.
  • Ability to work with remote resources and take ownership of tasks to drive to results-based outcomes.
  • Strong interest and experience focused on the Innovation economy and Venture Capital/Private Equity space.
  • Ability to promote strong risk culture and sustainable risk/return thinking.
  • Strong credit acumen.
  • Experience with venture-backed technology and healthcare companies and solutions.
