Responsibilities

  • Develops and trains staff to improve their skills.
  • Participates in and conducts bi-weekly/monthly leadership and one-to-one meetings.
  • Tracks and reports shift productivity, volume, and performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Concludes shifts with comprehensive reports summarizing operational results, team performance, challenges, and action items.
  • Maintains QA/QC records as required by regulatory agencies.
  • Monitors assigned staff for competency through assessment and annual evaluations.
  • Conducts monthly staff meetings and maintains minutes.
  • Ensures all HR-related requirements for staff are met in a timely fashion.
  • Monitors workflow and productivity in assigned areas.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing levels through timely posting of schedules and documenting changes.
  • Develops mechanisms to evaluate the quality and appropriateness of radiology services.
  • Assists the Department Chairman and Director in determining service quality and appropriateness.
  • Mediates individual staff problems and refers unresolved issues to superiors.
  • Coordinates and participates in formal and in-service training programs.
  • Stays updated on new procedures, equipment, and methods, coordinating and participating in their evaluation and application.
  • Coordinates and maintains Quality Control programs for all modalities, including equipment and machines, to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors patient data in HIS, RIS, and PACS systems for accuracy related to radiology examinations and reports.
  • Recommends procurement of necessary supplies, equipment, and modifications for practical and economical operations.
  • Develops and maintains a high level of customer service.
  • Directs and controls departmental workflow.
  • Maintains and updates payroll and other administrative records of personnel.
  • Adheres to Medical Center policies regarding patient information and medical record confidentiality, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Evaluates and maintains quality standards through staff development, in-services, and monitoring.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and follow-up activities.
  • Responsible for annual orientations, competency assessments, and evaluations.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

  • Competent in RIS, PACS, Excel, and other related applications.
