About the Role

Ebury is seeking an enthusiastic and driven dispute resolution lawyer to provide high-quality legal advice to key stakeholders in Spain, the United Kingdom, and overseas. This role will have day-to-day responsibility for assisting with contentious matters arising from Ebury's business, contributing to the company's growth and global development.

Responsibilities

  • Advising on and managing a broad range of disputes, including high-value disputes, asset recovery, employment-related matters, and contentious regulatory matters.
  • Advising, updating, and liaising with internal stakeholders on contentious matters, including Risk, Compliance, Operations, Front Office, and various Boards and committees.
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather facts, develop arguments, and liaise with external counsel.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders and business units across the Group to become a trusted advisor.
  • Monitoring legal developments relevant to the group’s activities to identify, manage, and report risks, and driving process change to reduce group-wide litigation risk.

Requirements

  • A proactive mindset and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • At least 2 years of relevant post-qualified professional experience as a qualified lawyer with commercial disputes and employment experience.
  • Experience advising financial services providers on contentious matters, with a working knowledge of relevant rules, common law principles, and key financial services regulations.
  • Experience with employment law and employment-related disputes, including tribunal/litigation claims, terminations, disciplinary matters, and grievances.
  • An ability to prioritize and manage a wide range of competing priorities.
