About the Role
We are searching for a skilled and motivated EV Charging Field Service Electrician responsible for the onsite repair and maintenance of EV charging stations in a specific geographic region. This role requires independent work under various conditions and availability for a Tuesday through Saturday schedule.
Responsibilities
- Perform OEM testing, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/revisions to Level 2 Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers and DC Fast Chargers.
- Conduct equipment testing, including insulation testing (megger testing), thermal imagery, torque tests, and performance evaluations.
- Troubleshoot system performance issues and locate/isolate ground faults.
- Collaborate with the Planning and Scheduling team to adhere to maintenance schedules and complete work orders accurately and on time.
- Review site manuals and drawings to ensure proper service and maintenance of equipment.
- Perform electrical and mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance in the field.
- Document all site issues in the work order system and address them promptly.
- Perform other duties as required to maintain and operate the site within contractual requirements.
Requirements
- Certified Electrician (Journeyman level) from a relevant state.
- 2+ years of equivalent experience in servicing electrical power equipment in the commercial or utility energy field and/or formal electrical training.
- Strong electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate, track, and complete site work requirements.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to analyze and resolve problems independently with a high level of results orientation.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
