About the Role

Pratt Industries USA, the world's largest, privately-owned paper and packaging company in the USA, has a position available for a hands-on Operations Supervisor for their Recycling Division in Staten Island, New York. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Sort-line and transfer of material within a mill/recycling complex, including compliance reporting and maintenance record keeping.

Responsibilities

Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Sort-line and transfer of material within a mill/recycling complex.
Manage compliance reporting and maintenance record keeping.
Periodically perform temporary coverage for Recycling Management and Operations Positions.

Requirements

Must have a minimum Associate's College Degree or equivalent.
Must possess excellent communication and reporting skills.
Requires previous supervisory experience.
Must be able to work days and flexible nights.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment.
Regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Occasionally required to sit.
Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
