About the Role
Finger Lakes Health is seeking an experienced Clinical Education Coordinator (RN) to lead education, competency, and professional development initiatives across acute care settings. This role involves partnering with nursing leaders to ensure teams have the necessary skills for exceptional patient care and serving as the Stroke Program Coordinator to advance the Primary Stroke Center.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing education and competency programs.
- Conduct educational needs assessments and create learning opportunities.
- Coordinate orientation, continuing education, annual competencies, and leadership development.
- Promote evidence-based practice and support professional growth for nursing staff.
- Partner with nursing leadership to improve quality, patient safety, and staff engagement.
- Serve as a clinical educator, consultant, facilitator, and change agent.
- Coordinate and support Finger Lakes Health's Primary Stroke Center program.
- Ensure educational programs support regulatory and accreditation standards.
Requirements
- BSN
- Recent experience in Critical Care/ICU and ER
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 4 years of acute care nursing experience
- At least 1 year of leadership or management experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications (obtained through the RQI system during clinical orientation)
- Moderate Sedation competency within six months of hire
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and evidence-based practice
- Experience developing educational programs and evaluating competency
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across departments
