About the Role
Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant for a one-year Surgical Postgraduate Residency in the Department of Surgery. This program, established in 2005, offers comprehensive surgical training across various subspecialties within a progressive, academic health system.
Responsibilities
- Participate in grand rounds, surgical case presentations, and surgical subspecialty conferences.
- Attend Surgeon-in-Chief rounds, Morbidity and Mortality conference, and Trauma conference.
- Complete selected readings and attend conferences specific to each subspecialty rotation.
- Rotate through general surgery, ICU/Cardiac surgery, Orthopedic surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gynecology, Otolaryngology, and Rural Surgery.
- Select one or two electives during the last eight weeks of the program.
- Work approximately 50 hours per week, with one night of call every other week.
Requirements
- National Certification as a Physician Assistant
- New York medical license or eligibility to obtain
- BLS Certification Required
