About the Role
PVEDI has partnered with Stratus to find a Project Manager for the Structures Team, focusing on building envelopes. This role involves overseeing service teams that investigate, analyze, and examine structural elements, building envelopes, and surrounding site conditions affecting a building's performance. The Project Manager will review the ongoing work of staff for project activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage technical and administrative aspects of new façade/roofing service opportunities from proposal to client acceptance, including invoicing and accounts receivable.
- Review design/analysis specifications and calculations for accuracy and updates on active projects.
- Perform full cycle façade inspections.
- Review remediation/design work plans, Project Specifications, Bidding Documents, cost estimates, and related submissions for city requirements, client presentation, and city/state/federal review and permitting.
- Review assessment information gathered during site investigations, including data from scaffold drops, fire escapes, and balcony evaluations.
- Supervise contractors and staff to ensure adherence to contract documents and prepare summary documentation of investigation results.
- Review and comment on technical reports, ensuring clarity and grammatical correctness for clients.
- Provide feedback to direct reports through performance evaluations, training, development, and improvement plans.
- Mentor new team members on work processes, company policies, safety, time reporting, and office rules.
- Lead building envelope testing and structural framing condition evaluations to determine façade, roof, and structural characteristics/deficiencies.
- Create and maintain project schedules, change orders, and budgets, ensuring adequate staffing and adherence to client agreements.
- Assist incoming employees with policies, deliverable updates, site visits, and project procedures.
- Contribute to overall performance, growth, and business development by working on cross-functional teams.
- Manage project budgets and process invoices on time.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in a related field.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of New York.
- 6+ years of experience in Building Envelope assessment and/or design for existing building projects.
- Solid experience with project and staff management, including team development, skill development, processes, compliance, and team building with engineering staff and other design consulting and construction professionals.
- Direct experience with facade surveys, probes, repair documents, FISP reports, bidding, construction administration, and contractor coordination.
- Understanding of building codes applicable to special inspections, connection detailing, lateral system determination, foundation work, and underpinning.
- Ability to delegate project-specific tasks to direct reports.
- Working knowledge of structural framing, building envelopes, codes, zoning as they apply to egress, fireproofing, energy, waterproofing, occupancy, and FAR.
- QEWI strongly preferred.
