About the Role
The Layout Fitter / Welder is responsible for fitting, repairing, and fabricating various types of metals to build vessels and vessel accessories.
Responsibilities
- Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques, including FCAW, GTAW open root and GMAW, all to ASME code standards.
- Performs X-ray repair.
- Operates Automatic SAW and machine GMAW.
- Performs welding on C/S to S/S, S/S to S/S, and inconel.
- Makes or assists in making templates and fixtures.
- Performs all functions including grinding, small head layout, nozzle swage and trim as required for single operator completion of vessels.
- Performs light grinding operations.
Requirements
- Must possess good match, blueprint and layout skills.
- Ability to solve production and quality problems with little supervision.
- Ability to receive and follow instructions as well as effectively communicate with management and co-workers.
- Attentive to details.
- Works in a safe manner and abides by safety policies.
