About the Role

Barclays is seeking an accomplished Generative AI Transformation Lead to drive the strategic adoption of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Agentic AI, Advanced Analytics, and Decision Intelligence capabilities across Finance. In this highly visible role, you will identify high-value AI opportunities, influence senior stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable business impact. Acting as a catalyst for transformation, you will challenge traditional finance processes, champion innovation through production-grade Generative AI, Agentic AI and automated reporting solutions and combine technical expertise with business acumen to turn complex data and AI insights into actionable decisions. You will also play a key role in fostering AI adoption, embedding responsible AI practices, ensuring compliance with Model Risk Management (MRM) standards, and helping shape a culture where AI becomes a natural part of how Finance works, thinks, and delivers value.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business capabilities for Finance through functional design, data, end-to-end-process and controls, delivery, and functional testing.
  • Leverage best practice concepts and collaborate with Line SMEs to support options analysis and recommendations.
  • Design conceptual data models and governance requirements in accordance with GDMS standards and principles.
  • Develop target process and controls design/documentation and operational runbooks.
  • Align process and controls components with organisational and role/service model design definitions.
  • Update design/functional requirements throughout the development cycle.
  • Resolve RAIDS related to functional requirements and business processes.
  • Manage change programmes with limited technology investment.
  • Develop scripts and data to test alignment to requirement definitions.
  • Contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies.
  • Manage and maintain policies/ processes.
  • Deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • Define jobs and responsibilities, plan for department’s future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance and contribute to employee pay decisions/changes (if managing a team).
  • Lead specialists to influence department operations, aligning with strategic and tactical priorities, balancing short and long term goals, and ensuring budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements (if managing a team).

Requirements

  • Experience applying Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions within large, complex organisations, ideally in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience leading large-scale transformation and change initiatives, delivering business outcomes and driving adoption across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Technical expertise combined with the ability to engage senior stakeholders, translating complex AI concepts into practical business solutions.
  • Experience working within Agile or Scaled Agile delivery environments.
  • Exposure to Generative AI implementations within Finance functions is advantageous.
