About the Role

Lead and facilitate human-centered design excellence to drive innovation, meet customer needs, and ensure the bank's long-term success. Advocate for customers in business decisions, balancing commercial aims, delivery feasibility, and regulatory requirements with high-quality customer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and distill needs to support the creation of balanced business cases.
  • Deliver high-quality insight and design outputs, managing project budgets and external agencies.
  • Facilitate problem statement identification and prioritization across business areas.
  • Lead solution discovery and co-ordinate solution/service designs, ensuring solution integrity.
  • Evaluate program or product risks to mitigate potential issues through iterative design and testing.
  • Build a culture that understands the value of customer-focused, human-centric design.
  • Conduct customer research, listening, testing, and market scanning.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor insights, and wider macro trends.
  • Incorporate colleague feedback into service provision investigations.
  • Test designs and experiences through prototypes with target customers and colleagues.
  • Translate identified areas for improvement into clear customer and commercial benefits.
  • Implement agile ways of working within teams for greater efficiency.
  • Deliver accurate insight on core CX outcomes and build awareness around critical customer metrics.
  • Promote and build a stronger customer experience culture with stakeholders.
  • Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
  • Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes.
  • Deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • Define jobs and responsibilities, plan for future needs and operations, counsel employees on performance, and contribute to pay decisions (if managing a team).
  • Lead specialists to influence department operations, balancing short and long-term goals.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviors to create an environment for colleagues to thrive (if a People Leader).
  • Act as a subject matter expert and guide technical direction (if an individual contributor).
  • Lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members (if an individual contributor).
  • Identify the need for other specializations and train/guide/coach less experienced specialists (if an individual contributor).
  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of organization functions to contribute to business goals.
