About the Role

To create best-in-class user experiences aligned to customer needs, driving optimal commercial and customer outcomes through the creation of products and journeys that meet customers' informational, functional, and emotional needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and implement user-centric digital banking products and experiences, ensuring alignment with customer needs, industry best practices, and business objectives.
  • Monitor the impact of designs post-launch through relevant CX metrics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and business analysts to translate business requirements into compelling user experiences.
  • Communicate design rationale and advocate for user-centered design principles.
  • Develop interactive prototypes and wireframes to visualize design concepts and validate solutions.
  • Iterate designs based on feedback, incorporating changing technical and business requirements and user feedback.
  • Evaluate the technical feasibility, legal compliance, and potential risks associated with the development and launch of new products.
  • Secure governance oversight and provide design assurance.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to gather insights into user behavior, preferences, and pain points.
  • Utilize research findings to inform design decisions and enhance the overall user experience, translating them into commercial and customer outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and design tools within the fintech and banking industry.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in product design processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Translate business requirements and customer needs into intuitive, user-centered design solutions that deliver meaningful product experiences.
  • Create user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes, applying UX and UI design principles.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and inform design decisions throughout the product lifecycle using customer feedback, research, and data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the business, challenging assumptions and advocating for the best outcomes for both users and the product.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Digital Product Design and/or User Experience (UX) Design.
  • Great proficiency in Figma for designing, prototyping, and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs and business requirements into effective, user-centered design solutions.
  • Understanding of User Experience (UX) principles, design thinking, and human-centered design methodologies.
  • Experience creating and delivering user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and information architecture artifacts.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary product teams.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with developers, software engineers, product managers, product owners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Great communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge ideas constructively and advocate for the best user and business outcomes.
  • Portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design work is required.
  • Understanding of user research methodologies and user-centered design practices.
  • Experience facilitating and/or participating in user research activities, including interviews, usability testing, and feedback sessions.
  • Exposure to analytics and data-driven design approaches, using customer insights and performance data to inform design decisions.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards, inclusive design principles, and creating experiences that are accessible to a diverse range of users.
  • Experience using AI tools to support and enhance the design process.
  • Interest in exploring innovative ways of working and experimenting with AI-enabled design techniques.
  • Previous experience within Financial Services, Banking, or Mortgages, Savings, and/or Insurance environments.
  • Degree in Product Design, User Experience (UX) Design, or a related design discipline.
  • May be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
