About the Role
Join us as a Security Enterprise Architect at Barclays, where you will play a strategic role in defining and evolving the bank’s enterprise security architecture across Endpoint and IAM domains. You will work closely with architecture, engineering, cyber security and business stakeholders to design secure technology solutions and influence long-term security strategy.
Responsibilities
- Develop, evolve, and implement the bank's technology architecture and strategies aligned to business and technology objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including Enterprise Architecture teams and other developers, to provide subject matter expertise and share knowledge.
- Understand and deliver on client technical needs.
- Motivate and lead diverse teams of technologists, business and operations professionals, and enterprise leaders to align business and technology strategy and standards.
- Identify opportunities and connect people.
- Assess new technologies to address current and future business needs.
- Determine optimal solutions while balancing compliance, governance, security, and funding requirements.
- Monitor and analyze application performance, resiliency, and stability to identify and resolve issues.
- Communicate and document key findings to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards and identify industry developments impacting the bank's operations and controls.
- Support engineering and architecture community initiatives to mentor team members, streamline operations, and share knowledge.
- Contribute to or set strategy, drive requirements, and make recommendations for change.
- Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes.
- Deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
- Define enterprise security architecture principles and target-state security capabilities.
- Provide architectural guidance across major technology initiatives.
- Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with regulatory standards.
- Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.

Requirements
- Proven experience in Security Architecture, designing secure enterprise-scale technology solutions across complex environments.
- Previous hands-on experience in technical security disciplines such as security engineering, digital forensics and incident response (DFIR), offensive security or related cyber security functions.
- Experience securing technology environments within the financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, operational resilience and governance requirements.
