About the Role

As Sr. Manager, Governance and Safe AI Adoption, you will collaborate closely with the Director, AI and Technology Strategy, TEO, to design and implement TEO's integrated AI and data strategy. This role will establish and operationalize TEO's AI Governance framework within the Technology and Enterprise Operations (TEO) division, ensuring AI solutions align with enterprise policies, regulatory expectations, and responsible AI principles. You will partner closely with business, technology, risk, legal, compliance, and AI teams to accelerate AI adoption while maintaining strong governance and risk controls, driving the safe adoption of GenAI and agentic AI solutions across the enterprise operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain TEO Responsible AI governance frameworks; define policies, standards, controls, and procedures for AI lifecycle management, including GenAI and agentic AI solutions.
  • Lead AI use-case intake, triage, classification, and risk assessment processes; evaluate AI solutions against governance, compliance, and risk requirements to identify control needs and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and maintain practical guardrails that enable safe AI adoption at scale; partner with delivery teams to embed governance into AI development processes and promote responsible AI-by-design practices.
  • Monitor evolving AI regulations and industry standards; support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and governance reporting to ensure compliance documentation and evidence are audit-ready.
  • Maintain inventory of AI solutions and associated controls; define governance metrics, KPIs, and risk indicators to report AI governance status and emerging risks to senior leadership.
  • Act as trusted advisor to business and technology leaders; facilitate governance reviews and decision-making forums while building awareness and education programs supporting responsible AI adoption.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in AI governance, model risk, technology risk, compliance, or AI implementation with strong understanding of AI, machine learning, GenAI, and emerging AI technologies.
  • Deep working experience with below compliance and governance process: IRP, PARA (Archer), Athena, ACA, EMRM model validation (Mavrick) processes
  • Experience developing governance frameworks, policies, or controls in complex environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills to influence senior leadership.
  • Proven experience working in highly regulated environments and managing compliance requirements.
  • Experience in financial shared services, payment and trade, and cash service operations
  • Experience with LLM, AI/ML model development, simulation, and deployment.
  • Experience working directly with client or business teams in banking operations industry
  • Prior exposure to RBC enterprise data platforms or financial services.
  • Experience of building or leading AI/data science teams.
