About the Role
As an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and respond to situations with integrity and care.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or clients by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, resident concerns, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the shelter location, including common areas, entrances, exits, exterior grounds, and perimeter, to help identify and report unusual activity or facility concerns.
- Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and support site access procedures in accordance with established policies.
- Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
