About the Role

This Associate Site Reliability Engineering role is a hands-on technical role responsible for driving team efforts in high availability, maintainability, support, and automation. The successful candidate will bring an ability to prioritize, communicate clearly and compellingly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence by building and leveraging a strong team. Our Leads & Technical Managers drive organizations to continuously contribute to evolving the Schwab experience and technology.

Responsibilities

• Execute SRE tasks for Cross Enterprise organizations.
• Interact with senior technology leaders, product owners, and business partners.
• Work with teams on complex issues requiring in-depth knowledge of Cloud platforms and tooling.
• Partner with experienced technologists to create plans for delivering solutions, ensuring day-to-day support, high availability, and process compliance.
• Repair and recover from failures, coordinating and communicating with impacted stakeholders and clients.
• Monitor and troubleshoot issues across the entire stack (software, application, and network).
• Develop automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale, and monitor their applications.
• Identify and implement improvements for application reliability and availability.
• Develop and manage continuous deployment and integration solutions.
• Create and review documentation and processes regarding recurring issues, new standard operating procedures, and knowledge transfer material.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Scrum, and Ops resources to provide technical expertise and support for system availability and reliability.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to resolve business and service impacting problems, evaluating all alternatives, and consulting with other technical members of the organization.
• Knowledge of Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).
• Current working experience with Schwab systems and processes.
• Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (Bamboo, Go or other related tools).
• Experience with Git, JIRA and related Atlassian stack.
• Ability to work well with global teams.
• Flexibility to operate in an environment with changing demands and priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Experience with Terraform is preferred.
