Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer contact to provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products.
  • Effectively communicate the clinical and economic benefits of the products to medical professionals.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages and executing planned programs.
  • Schedule and follow-up with medical educational programs.
  • Achieve or exceed sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts.
  • Ensure product access and resolve/triage reimbursement issues.
  • Maintain product contracts.
  • Craft an effective marketing strategy to aid in driving sales.
  • Analyze sales activities and territory performance.
  • Develop territory plans with the District Manager.
  • Sustain passion for products throughout the sales cycle.
  • Build the Amgen brand and focus on serving patients.
  • Partner with colleagues to share best practices.
  • Maintain continuous curiosity and learning.
  • Leverage passion for Oncology and disease state awareness, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
  • Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
  • High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in a healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
  • Preferred experience in Oncology.
  • Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in the areas of oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation, neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties.
  • Local Market knowledge.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
