About the Role

As part of BMO’s North American Retail & Small Business Payments department, the Director, Network Management, Governance and Revenue Optimization leads a team accountable for Pricing, MasterCard and Visa Governance, and Value Added Services for retail and small business credit cards in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end ownership of pricing for retail and small business credit cards in Canada, including changes to interest rates, fees, rewards policies, and automated customer level pricing programs.
  • Lead periodic pricing change initiatives, managing the full cycle from ideation to measurement and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to increase NPS related to customer pricing by collaborating with customer experience teams.
  • Track key revenue drivers and provide input on forecasting and financial results with the finance team.
  • Manage BMO’s partnership with MasterCard and Visa, developing and executing a strategy to optimize financial performance, risk management, and customer experience.
  • Support team members in creating and executing governance strategies for other critical partnerships.
  • Serve as the strategic contact for internal and partner stakeholders on network relationships, supporting contract negotiations and acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Manage all contractual and partnership obligations, ensuring effective performance against business objectives and meeting KPIs and SLAs.
  • Introduce and sustain controls to manage Contract, Legal, Outsourcing, and Operational Risks associated with network relationships.
  • Effectively manage the financial aspects of network partnerships, including forecasting, invoice validation, and performance reporting.
  • Manage a portfolio of cardholder benefits and value-added services.
  • Lead the Value-added services strategy refresh to optimize, refresh, and innovate.
  • Manage contractual and supplier requirements for existing and new partners.
  • Liaise with other lines of business within the payments team and across the bank.
  • Manage risk related to the portfolio and ensure compliance with all laws, rules, and BMO policies.
  • Assist in resolving customer escalations related to value-added services and implement process changes to prevent customer issues.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years financial management experience
  • 3–5 years partner relationship management experience
  • 3–5 years payments experience preferred
  • Strong track record delivering results in ambiguous and challenging situations
  • P&L management experience
  • Minimum undergraduate university degree, an MBA or other post-graduate degree, or equivalent industry related experience preferred
  • BMO organizational knowledge an asset
  • Risk management experience an asset
  • Project management experience an asset
