About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused royalty professional to join Warner Chappell Music on a 13-month maternity cover. Reporting to the UK Head of Administration, you will play a key role in ensuring our writers and clients continue to receive the high standard of service they expect, while maintaining the smooth running of our UK Royalty function. You will work across royalty processing, client services, reporting and administration, supporting accurate and timely royalty distributions while resolving client queries with professionalism and care. Working closely with colleagues across Finance, Copyright, Income Tracking and Royalty Processing, you will help deliver a seamless experience for our songwriters and rightsholders. This is an opportunity to join an experienced and collaborative team, quickly build trusted relationships across the business, and make an immediate impact by maintaining operational excellence throughout the maternity cover period. You will also contribute to ongoing process improvements and support wider administration projects that continue to enhance the service we provide to our writers and clients.
Responsibilities
- Support the successful delivery of all outbound royalty distributions for UK signed clients, assisting throughout the Royalty Close process.
- Maintain accurate royalty, payee and financial information within our royalty systems.
- Support royalty statement reviews and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate client accountings.
- Assist with internal and external royalty audits as required.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to our writers and clients, acting as a trusted first point of contact for royalty and administration queries.
- Register and onboard clients to our Client Portal, providing demonstrations and ongoing support.
- Maintain accurate client records, including contact information, banking details and tax information.
- Support clients in making the most of our Client Portal and mobile application.
- Produce royalty reporting, earnings analysis and ad hoc reporting using BI/Tableau and other reporting tools.
- Analyse royalty statements and financial data to identify trends, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
- Enter, validate and maintain high volumes of financial and royalty data with exceptional accuracy.
- Support reporting requirements across the UK Administration team.
- Partner with Copyright, Finance, Income Tracking and Royalty Processing teams to deliver a seamless administration experience.
- Support departmental projects and wider administration initiatives to achieve team objectives and KPIs.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute ideas for system enhancements.
- Participate in team and department meetings, sharing knowledge and best practice across the business.
Requirements
- Experience working in an analytical or data driven role within Music Publishing.
- An understanding of the international collection society framework that supports the collection and distribution of royalties to songwriters.
- You are passionate about music and committed to delivering exceptional service for songwriters and rightsholders.
- You are a proactive self-starter who enjoys learning new systems and continuously improving the way you work.
- You have excellent analytical skills and enjoy working with large volumes of financial and royalty data.
- You have exceptional attention to detail and understand the importance of data accuracy.
- You are confident in managing competing priorities while consistently delivering high-quality work.
- You communicate professionally and build trusted relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- You are comfortable resolving client queries with empathy, professionalism and efficiency.
- You have strong organisational and time management skills.
- You are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas and data analysis, and are keen to continue developing your technical skills.
- Experience using SAP or other finance systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google suites including sheets.
- Ability to design high-quality decks and visual materials using presentation platforms, such as Canva or Google Slides.
- A proactive approach to integrating Generative AI (e.g., Gemini) into everyday work to support and streamline daily tasks and overall productivity.
