About the Role
HOK's New York office is seeking Sr. Design Professionals to join our growing Transportation practice. This role involves coordinating and undertaking design development, production, and delivery of projects, requiring independent action, decision-making, and the ability to supervise others. You will be part of a team shaping transformative infrastructure projects and redefining urban mobility.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and develop approaches to architectural document creation and modification, ensuring design intent.
- Develop, modify, and review drawings according to established standards.
- Develop strong presentations and early design studies, preparing 2D and 3D drawings and models.
- Translate design intent into technical documents.
- Lead junior technicians in developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.
- Assist in coordinating project information with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Ensure documentation conforms to QA/QC and HOK Best Practice Standards.
- Apply proper QA/QC methods throughout projects.
- Conduct product and code research and incorporate codes into technical documents.
- Mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff.
- Participate in professional development reviews.
- Interface with clients and consultants.
- Assist in work planning and scheduling processes.
- Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
- Assist team in construction administration document management.
- Ensure HOK document standards are met and archive documents appropriately.
- Participate in setting up project team software parameters and managing standards.
- Facilitate internal and external communications.
- Track all project data in electronic files.
- Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
- Foster a commitment to external and internal client service.
Requirements
- Application must include both resume and portfolio (or portfolio link).
- 6 plus years’ experience; or equivalent in appropriate education and experience required.
Skills
- LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.
