About the Role
CareRx is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to support a group of LTC Homes and Retirement Communities. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and safety of medications by assisting in the preparation, packaging, and organization of medication deliveries, requiring exceptional attention to detail and support for Pharmacists and Technicians.
Responsibilities
- Operate automated packaging machines as required
- Arrange for and complete preventative maintenance for machines; contact appropriate service provider as required
- Maintain and monitor levels of government stock medication and machine consumables
- Maintain the medication database for all packaging machines
- Troubleshoot mechanical and software issues of packaging and inspection machines
- Ensure workflow efficiency and inform management of required process/personnel changes
- Responsible for applicable inventory related reports, when required
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ethical standards
Requirements
- Experience as a Pharmacy Assistant
- Excellent working knowledge of automated packaging machines
- Ability to direct and work well with other pharmacy team members
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and changes in priorities
- Ability to communicate using different styles and methods to suit individual coworkers
- Ability to set clear and specific goals and objectives and create plans to achieve them
- Working knowledge of pharmacy calculations
- Visual acuity, numeracy, detail orientation, and manual dexterity appropriate for handling strip packs, prescription bottles, and labels
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, able to maintain a professional demeanor when speaking with clientele
- Remains calm under pressure and is able to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Strong motivation to succeed
- Possess a positive, cooperative, and team-oriented attitude
- Experience with KROLL
- Must successfully pass satisfactory background screening (Criminal Record Check, Credit Check, Driver’s Abstract, Education Verification, Current Professional Registration and Referencing)
