About the Role
HSBC Global Payment Solutions (GPS) is a leader in Cash Management services. The Global Merchant Services Team under GPS is responsible for managing the product life-cycle from development to commercialisation, focusing on Digital Merchant Services (DMS) new features and working with sales teams to commercialise products.
Responsibilities
- Lead product design and enhancement for merchant services, collaborating with IT, Operations, risk stewards, and other stakeholders to meet deadlines.
- Drive commercialisation of merchant services, including updating collaterals, organising marketing events, leading sales enablement, managing deal pipelines, and overseeing client implementation.
- Gather market feedback and conduct competitor analysis with sales and relationship teams to differentiate products and price deals.
- Explore partnerships with external payment providers, platforms, and schemes, as well as internal teams like Retail Banking and Markets, to create end-to-end client solutions.
- Obtain risk dispensation approval for exceptional cases and achieve desired business outcomes in collaboration with GPS Sales & Coverage teams.
- Monitor revenue and cost from schemes and vendors, track NFI actual vs. target, and support product governance and risk management activities.
Requirements
- Proven cash management product or sales experience.
- Prior corporate transaction banking experience is preferred.
- Experience in merchant acquiring or card business is preferred.
- Experienced in product project/program management.
- Demonstrable experience in co-creation with IT & internal business partners.
- Ability to deliver creative and flexible customer solutions.
- Good business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural, and regulatory issues.
- Well-developed communication skills with client-facing experience.
- Ability to deliver compelling presentations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide recommendations for decision-making.
