About the Role
This position performs event set-ups, general cleaning duties, assists clients with information, and maintains equipment within the Civic Center.
Responsibilities
- Performs event set-ups including risers, tables, and chairs.
- Assists Civic Center clients with information.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms.
- Sweeps, mops, and dust mops floors.
- Vacuums and shampoos carpeted areas.
- Safely mixes and handles cleaning chemicals.
- Ensures area protection for safety.
- Empties and disposes of trash.
- Dusts walls, fixtures, and furniture.
- Cleans windows and doors.
- Replaces light bulbs and cleans fixtures.
- Maintains equipment such as vacuum cleaners and tenant sweepers.
- Performs minor maintenance.
- Reports equipment, maintenance, or safety problems.
- Unlocks doors prior to events and locks after events.
- Displays flags daily.
- Works courteously with the public.
- Performs snow removal at entrances and walkways.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous custodial experience preferred.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License is preferred, not required.
Skills
- Ability to move, set up, and take down risers, tables, and chairs.
- Ability to operate and make minor repairs to cleaning equipment and machinery.
- Ability to use hand tools such as mops, brooms, dust mops, window cleaning tools, and maid cart with cleaning supplies.
- Ability to safely drive a city truck.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift, scissor lift, or genie lift.
- Ability to read and understand simple verbal instructions.
