About the Role
As a cyber mission specialist, you will use your cyberspace operations experience to create solutions executed on a worldwide stage. You will apply your expertise in various cybersecurity areas, including Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidance, Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E), system vulnerability, and compliance, in support of Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Your role will be vital in assessing cyberspace capabilities, evaluating potential weaknesses and mitigation effectiveness, and leveraging cyberspace operations systems to aggregate threat feeds. You will inform senior leadership briefings, support research on emerging technology and threats, and develop strategies to meet organizational goals. You will also work with headquarters-level decision-makers on technical solutions for sustaining cybersecurity across multiple technology areas. Your research and analysis abilities will be used to assess and inform operators and senior leadership on adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures to support system A&A efforts through cyber risk assessment, policy analysis, technology evaluations, and NIST security control validation. You will analyze system security implementations and application security, providing recommendations to decision-makers and engineers, and contribute to the development of operation plans for command and control.
Responsibilities
- Apply expertise in various cybersecurity areas, including DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidance, Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E), system vulnerability, and compliance, in support of Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Evaluate potential weaknesses and the effectiveness of mitigations for cybersecurity solutions.
- Leverage cyberspace operations systems to aggregate threat feeds that inform briefings for senior leadership.
- Support research of emerging technology, requisite security requirements, and emerging threats.
- Develop a way forward to meet organizational goals.
- Work with headquarters-level decision-makers on the technical implementation of solutions for promoting the sustainment of cybersecurity across multiple technology areas.
- Assess and inform operators and senior leadership on dynamic adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures to support system A&A efforts through cyber risk assessment, policy analysis, technology evaluations, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security control validation.
- Analyze system security implementations and application security, and provide recommendations to decision-makers and engineers.
- Develop operation plans to support command and control.
Requirements
- Experience in a cybersecurity or computer field, including supporting information assurance, networking, or systems administration.
- Experience applying system security configurations to meet compliance standards.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and the implementation of industry best practices.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, or 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity in lieu of degree.
- Ability to obtain a Security+ CE Certification within 120 days of start date.
