About the Role
Cancer Research UK’s Finance Training Academy offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a range of finance disciplines whilst studying towards your ACCA or CIMA qualification.
Responsibilities
- Working in the financial control team
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist in the production of year-end accounting information, liaising with internal and external auditors and monitoring internal financial controls across CRUK
- Work with the financial control manager and financial control team to regularly review, develop, and improve financial reporting and other control processes
- Complete structured rotations across key finance functions, including transactional finance, management accounting, financial reporting, treasury and financial analysis
- Support finance processes including income processing, supplier payments, reconciliations and month-end activities
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and variance analysis
- Develop strong relationships across the organisation and become a trusted point of contact
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and reporting
- Study towards an ACCA or CIMA qualification alongside your role
Requirements
- A minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline
- A genuine passion for finance and desire to pursue ACCA or CIMA
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good Excel and IT skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated and organised with the ability to balance study and work commitments
- Must be eligible to work in the UK
