About the Role

The CRE Finance Banker is a senior-level position responsible for originating, structuring, underwriting, and executing commercial real estate financing transactions for Citi's institutional clients. The role works closely with senior bankers, product partners, investors, and sponsors to deliver innovative financing solutions across the commercial real estate capital structure. The overall objective is to manage client relationships, execute transactions, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to the growth and strategic development of the CRE Finance platform.

Responsibilities

  • Screen, size, structure, underwrite, originate, and close a broad range of real estate financing products including CMBS, mortgage loans, mezzanine/preferred debt, back leverage loans/facilities, acquisition financings, and take private financings across various real estate property sectors.
  • Assume significant responsibility across all phases of transaction execution, business development, client relationship management, and the overall growth of the CRE Finance franchise.
  • Underwrite real estate transactions through detailed cash flow analysis, collateral and sponsor evaluation, market assessments, valuation analysis, and risk examination.
  • Mentor and oversee a team of analysts and associates in the execution of CRE Finance transactions, providing guidance on underwriting, structuring, and deal execution.
  • Draft and review offering materials including pitch books, term sheets, offering circulars, rating agency presentations, debt offering memoranda, and internal committee memos.
  • Review and interpret third-party due diligence reports, including appraisals, engineering reports, environmental assessments, market studies, property leases, rent rolls, and historical and projected operating statements.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and their assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Citi policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of experience
  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills, including cash flow modeling, debt sizing, sensitivity analysis, and commercial real estate valuation methodologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of related products, pertinent regulations and lending and credit approval processes
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with large sponsor funds, corporate clients, capital markets products, finance and securities products.

  • $175,000.00 - $250,000.00
