About the Role

The Quality and Information Analyst is responsible for maintaining and updating transplant quality databases, conducting quality improvement projects, and serving as the transplant quality assurance liaison. This role involves working with clinical teams to outline projects, gather and analyze data, prepare reports, facilitate quality meetings, and ensure compliance with QA regulations through reporting and policy updates.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, report, and implement performance improvement activities.
• Coordinate the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Transplant Program Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement program.
• Recommend quality and performance improvement opportunities based on data trends, goals, and benchmarks.
• Participate as a committee member for performance improvement projects, tracking and documenting progress.
• Facilitate the tracking and sharing of organ and department-specific quality assurance and performance improvement metrics.
• Create, implement, and maintain transplant quality databases and other databases as needed.
• Devise methods for complex search strategies and data collection using statistical methods and computer programming.
• Ensure database variables meet clinician needs and update patient information.
• Monitor data gathered by other personnel and make changes to increase database reliability.
• Analyze clinical outcomes and survival using advanced statistical techniques and prepare reports.
• Ensure database information is secure and regulate access according to HIPAA and RSRB policies.
• Ensure accuracy of data submitted to the UNOS database and utilize UNet data reports for program outcomes analysis.
• Provide analytic support for research projects.
• Assist EPIC Phoenix end-users with report generation, workflows, and IT interfacing.
• Provide ongoing data to NYCTC and NYCLT staff to meet program reporting obligations.
• Serve as a content expert for national transplant outcomes reports and update the team on SRTR variable changes.
• Conduct regular compliance reviews of transplant programs to ensure CMS and UNOS standards are met.
• Ensure the program policy manual is aligned with current regulations and evidence-based practice.
• Provide information to assist clinical leadership in completing UNOS RFI, regulatory surveys, and data requests.
• Organize, attend, and facilitate QA case review conferences and meetings related to quality data management.
• Serve as a liaison between the transplant program and various hospital departments and QA staff.
• Facilitate transplant quality meetings and maintain attendance records.
• Notify Department QA Leadership and SMH QA Department of any serious adverse events.
• Participate in root cause analysis as needed.
• Participate in various quality meetings.
• Communicate transplant-related quality outcomes and safety issues to appropriate staff and leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
• Experience in Quality Assurance, Process Improvement, Data Analysis and Visualization and Policy Development preferred.
