About the Role
The Center for Career Design and Development seeks graduate student mentors for their Career Pathways Mentoring Program Student Assistant Specialist. This role pairs a Graduate Mentor with four undergraduate students to support their academic and professional aspirations, emphasizing the value of degree completion for career advancement.
Responsibilities
- Be available to meet with mentees for 4 meetings per month (in person or remote).
- Conduct the first meeting with mentees in person.
- Attend and support two group meetings over a catered lunch (one at the beginning and one at the end of the program).
- Encourage mentees, offer guidance, steer them to university resources, and communicate concerns to pilot program co-chairs.
- Complete an 8-hour asynchronous Peer Mentoring Certificate program prior to the semester start.
Requirements
- Graduate student in good standing.
- Completion of at least one semester of full-time study.
- Graduation date no earlier than May 2026.
- GPA of 3.5 or higher.
- Approachable, friendly, supportive, and able to provide guidance.
- Knowledge of university resources.
