About the Role
Fi is seeking a Logistics Manager to oversee end-to-end US fulfillment operations, including managing the 3PL relationship, inbound freight, and overall fulfillment costs. This hands-on role requires a proactive individual to ensure warehouse performance, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Own the US 3PL relationship, including cadence, scorecards, escalations, and business reviews.
- Ensure warehouse performance on customer-facing metrics like on-time ship rate and order accuracy.
- Drive root cause analysis and resolution for fulfillment errors, partnering with Customer Experience.
- Manage inventory integrity through WMS accuracy, cycle counts, and physical audits.
- Oversee kitting, assembly, and value-add work orders, and ensure adequate staffing for peak periods.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse functions.
- Manage inbound freight from supplier to warehouse receipt, including bookings and mode selection.
- Oversee relationships with forwarders and brokers, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
- Support the setup of new fulfillment nodes and international warehouses.
- Manage the fulfillment cost line, including cost per order, storage, and outbound parcel costs.
- Audit 3PL and carrier invoices to identify and resolve billing errors.
- Negotiate and manage carrier rate cards, conducting rate reviews and re-bids.
- Identify and implement cost-down initiatives to reduce cost per unit without impacting service.
- Partner with finance on logistics budgeting, accruals, and forecasting.
- Manage the end-to-end returns process, including intake, grading, and disposition.
- Provide feedback on return reasons to relevant teams to address defects at the source.
- Integrate fulfillment realities into planning and commercial discussions.
- Collaborate with data and engineering teams to automate tracking and improve shipment visibility.
Requirements
- 5+ years in logistics, fulfillment, or 3PL operations, preferably in consumer hardware or DTC.
- Direct experience managing a 3PL or operating a distribution center.
- Proficiency in supply chain finance, including landed cost, cost per unit, and cost per order modeling.
- Hands-on experience with inbound freight, including forwarders, ocean and air, and customs brokerage.
- Proven track record of auditing invoices and recovering funds.
- Experience designing and managing reverse logistics and returns processes.
- High data literacy and experience with ERP and WMS systems (NetSuite or similar).
- Strong systems thinking and a bias for action.
- Experience scaling logistics operations at a hardware or IoT company.
- Experience with multi-node or multi-3PL network management.
- Experience with international expansion, including customs, VAT, and non-US warehouses.
- Exposure to retail compliance, including routing guides, EDI, and chargeback disputes.
- Six Sigma or formal process improvement training is a plus.
- SQL and strong spreadsheet skills are a plus.
