About the Role

The Senior Workstation Engineer provides insight and recommendations for long-term IT infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture. This role serves as the technical lead with expert proficiency in workstation infrastructure and systems, and supports Software Asset Management (SAM) activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide insight and recommendations to inform long-term IT infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture across multiple systems.
  • Provide on-site support of colleague technical needs and 2nd and 3rd level technical support.
  • Work closely with technical teams in the translation of business requirements and functional specifications into technical requirements.
  • Build solutions that support the technical direction of infrastructure solutions within various computing environments.
  • Perform systems integration testing (SIT), component integration testing (CIT), and user acceptance testing (UAT) for assigned systems.
  • Consult End-User Services leadership providing input to capital and expense budgets for workstation technologies.
  • Mentor junior team members providing technical and procedural guidance.
  • Consult with the Tech Ops Center and other IT teams monitoring incident trends and escalating reoccurring issues.
  • Support Software Asset Management duties for workstation and end-user software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Typically 8+ years of Workstation engineering, endpoint management, Windows/Mac administration, infrastructure support, and related enterprise technology experience.
  • Experience with software lifecycle, software packaging/deployment, SAM/ITAM, license management, or software governance preferred.

  • Expert Apple Mac and Windows OS management
  • Advanced Azure Virtual Desktop administration and support skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office 365 and other standard software skills
  • Expert Active Directory, Azure, Intune and JAMF device management skills
  • Advanced networking technologies skills understanding DHCP, DNS, VLANs, TCP/IP protocols, and troubleshooting skills
  • Expert programming or scripting skills
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices such as routers, switches and WAPs
  • Advanced network protocol decode utilizing latest network analyzer tools
  • Audio visual conferencing systems design and administration
  • Crestron controls or similar programming experience
  • Microsoft Teams on Surface Hub or equivalent device integration experience
  • Microsoft Teams Room administration
  • Cisco Webex and room system administration
  • Software Asset Management lifecycle, including planning, procurement, deployment, maintenance, retirement, and governance controls
  • Software license management, entitlement tracking, allocation, renewal, true-up, reconciliation, and audit readiness
  • Software usage analysis, license reclamation, cost optimization, and reporting for leadership decision-making
  • SAM/ITAM tools, CMDB data quality, procurement systems, endpoint management data, and software request/approval workflows
