About the Role

Episcopal Community Services (ECS) is seeking an Assistant Support Services Manager to support the Support Services Manager in overseeing and developing the Support Services program at a designated housing site. This role involves providing intensive social work and support services to formerly homeless adults, sharing supervision of case management staff, and maintaining a client caseload.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Support Services Manager in the oversight and development of the Support Services program.
  • Share supervision of case management services and staff at the site.
  • Maintain a client caseload and provide case management services to designated residents.
  • Perform initial intake assessments of assigned residents.
  • Provide residents with ongoing on-site case management and supportive services.
  • Refer residents to in-house or outside resources for various needs.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and overseeing new programs, groups, and activities.
  • Work with residents on budgeting and money management plans.
  • Advocate on behalf of residents for property management and benefit issues.
  • Develop and facilitate at least one weekly therapeutic/psycho-educational group.
  • Assist with the organization and execution of program events and community-building activities.
  • Assist residents or staff with conflict resolution.
  • Maintain up-to-date, complete, confidential, and professional documentation in resident files.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, including monthly statistics, in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the supervision of case management site staff, including scheduling and payroll.
  • Assist with completing personnel-related documentation and performance evaluations.
  • Communicate relevant program issues to the Support Services Manager for feedback or approval.
  • Assist the Support Services Manager in evaluating and achieving programmatic operations and contractual obligations.
  • Assist with monitoring and reporting data collection procedures.
  • Provide support and assistance to Support Services staff, including training and case consultation.
  • Serve as acting Support Services Manager when necessary.
  • Attend all assigned meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must secure finger image screening and annual TB screening.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position, including long periods at a desk/computer and lifting up to 25 lbs.

  • Communicate effectively and model integrity, fairness, and ethical business practices.

Skills

  • Good working knowledge and sensitivity to adults with mental health issues, substance abuse, domestic violence, and/or HIV/AIDS.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency in working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is desirable.
  • Ability to quickly assess and respond to a variety of situations, including medical emergencies, conflict resolution, and intervention.
  • Working knowledge of crisis intervention techniques.
  • Excellent charting, recordkeeping, and written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong familiarity with San Francisco-based substance use, mental health, and health care resources.
  • Ability to maintain professional, respectful, honest interactions.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Episcopal Community Services.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Sensitivity to a diverse tenant and staff population.
  • Ability to facilitate training sessions and effective support/tenant groups.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to prioritize and perform a variety of tasks in an active environment.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines.

Experience Level

  • At least two years of supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous clinical experience and prior work with homeless/very low income adults preferred.
  • Experience with non-profit organizations serving disadvantaged people preferred.

Education Level

  • M.S.W. or M.A. degree in psychology, counseling, social work strongly preferred.
  • LCSW or MFT license strongly preferred.

Salary/Compensations

  • $78,324.00 - $81,849.00
