About the Role
Responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial records through oversight of complex reconciliations between the loan system (ACBS) and General Ledger for Capital Markets Loans. Takes ownership of issues and follows up to ensure appropriate correction.
Responsibilities
- Strictly adhere to Operating Guidelines for all reconciliation and reporting activities.
- Independently solve complex investigations and ensure timely resolution of all outstanding issues, particularly at month-end.
- Ensure all General Ledger (G/L) accounts are reconciled appropriately and exceptions are followed up and resolved.
- Ensure monthly SOD packages are properly prepared and signed off as per policy requirements.
- Solve complex investigations independently using good judgment and analytical thinking.
- Complete monthly/quarterly reporting within established timelines.
- Complete daily tasks within established timelines.
- Develop and issue monthly management metrics reporting as required.
- Identify opportunities to mitigate risk and minimize revenue leakage.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to streamline processes or eliminate non-value-added activities.
- Improve the “Operating Guidelines” continuously to ensure a clear, concise, and robust document with job aids and tool guides.
- Provide day-to-day support to the team by assuming colleagues' functions in their absence and/or rotations.
- Provide support to back up the Manager when required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at various levels internally and externally and at varying levels of technical/business knowledge.
- Highly organized with strong commitment to task and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform well under pressure to multitask and reprioritize tasks as necessary and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
- Ability to accept and embrace change and adopt a “custom” rather than “cookie cutter” approach.
- Three to Five years previous experience in accounting or finance with strong analytical skills.
- Previous experience within RBFG, particularly in a UFC would be an asset.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.).
- Good knowledge of bank systems (ACBS, CCMS, CID, RIMMS, IntelliMatch, Application Launch Pad, NIS, OnDemand, Siebel, IRIS, Service Platform etc.).
- Ability to learn and adopt to new technologies quickly.
