About the Role

Founders Factory is seeking a technical lead to support its portfolio of startups by providing hands-on execution and strategic guidance. This role involves collaborating with early-stage founders across various domains and technologies, with a focus on leveraging modern AI tooling to build resilient and scalable technology. The position offers a unique opportunity to define and build new ventures from scratch in diverse sectors, backed by leading corporate partners, with the goal of establishing a global blueprint for future technology businesses.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical expert across the Studio and Accelerator, transforming ideas into tangible outcomes and integrating AI into products and operations.
• Lead teams in building secure, resilient, and scalable tech and data science solutions.
• Build new ventures from scratch, supporting multiple Studio businesses concurrently.
• Set technical direction and provide expertise to shape venture visions through development and implementation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams as the key technical stakeholder, turning ambiguous ideas into validated MVPs within six months.
• Apply an "AI-first" approach to product and technical decisions from the outset.
• Identify opportunities for AI-native workflows to accelerate time-to-MVP and time-to-validation.
• Lead the development and testing of technical hypotheses, including the core role of AI in products and operating models.
• Design, build, and maintain internal AI tooling and applied AI infrastructure for Studio and Accelerator teams.
• Reduce duplicated effort by creating shared internal tools for recurring technical problems.
• Codify best practices, including architecture patterns, evaluation frameworks, prompting guidelines, and vendor assessments.
• Rapidly prototype and test new AI capabilities and tools for potential portfolio-wide adoption.
• Run regular "surgery" sessions with Accelerator founders and tech leads, offering tailored technical mentorship.
• Ensure learnings are captured and fed back into consistent best practices and processes.
• Provide technical mentorship to team members.

Requirements

• Proven ability to deliver products in a fast-paced tech startup environment.
• Recent experience building with modern AI tooling.
• Experience across a variety of technical and AI solutions, including generative AI and agentic systems.
• Proven experience in developing and executing AI strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Strong product and customer mentality, balancing speed and scale.
• Ability to switch between hands-on execution and strategic advice.
• Experience evaluating and integrating third-party AI tools and vendors, making sound build-vs-buy decisions.
• Previous experience as a technical founder of an early-stage startup is preferred.
• Comfort dealing with uncertainty, complex problems, and risk, making decisions with incomplete information.
• Ability to operate effectively and productively under pressure.
• Strong bias for action and persistence in achieving objectives.
• Ability to understand others' perspectives and continuously improve.
• Ability to work across geographies, time zones, and multi-functional teams.
• Coaching and mentoring others on technical aspects.
